Clarks Mill Summer Operating Sundays

Clarks Mill is extending its last Sunday of the month operating events in January, February and March with more to see and do, and extra operating times.  See, hear and feel this historic flour mill come back to life as the machinery rolls into action. Come and explore how wheat is grown, turned in flour and made into our daily bread.  There will be vintage tractors and other working vintage machinery from the North Otago Vintage Machinery Club.  Bring a picnic and come and enjoy a fascinating visit to this 19th century engineering marvel.

Sunday 27 January  

Clarks Mill Live Operating Day features trucks and tracks with North Otago Vintage Machinery Club (NOVMC).  Millers Cottages open with tea and scones available.  

Machinery running at  11.00am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm.  Spaces are limited so you can book your tickets upon arrival for spaces available.

Wednesday 6 February

Free Open Day at Clarks Mill and Totara Estate.  Tea and scones available at Totara Estate.  Clarks Mill is self-guided only today. 

Sunday 24 February  

Clarks Mill Live Operating Day carries a Garden Party theme today – enjoy afternoon tea in the garden around the Millers House and Smokey Joes.  Millers Cottages and NOVMC open. 

Machinery running at  1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm.  Spaces are limited so you can book your tickets upon arrival for spaces available.

Sunday 31 March

Clarks Mill Live Operating Day carries a Harvest Time theme today.  The Millers Cottages are open and NOVMC has vintage machinery displays too.  

Machinery running at  1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm.  Spaces are limited so you can book your tickets upon arrival for spaces available.

How Much?

Adult $15, Student $5, Child free. Heritage New Zealand members free (show your valid membership card).   Free entry on Waitnagi Day only.  EFTPOS available.

  • January - March only, additional opening hours:
  • Last Sunday of the month: 12 - 4pm. Machinery operates at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
  • Thursdays: 10am - 1pm. Machinery operates at 11am
  • Closed May-September; Christmas Day and Good Friday.
