Your wedding at Alberton
Beautiful, historic Alberton built in 1863, offers lovely options for ceremonies and receptions and many picturesque settings for photographs. Set in an extensive heritage garden it has the grandeur of a mansion, once the crown of a 500 acre estate but it also the intimacy of a family home.
The front steps are a breath-taking setting for a ceremony and for group photographs with the ornate balconies and Indian inspired turrets as a backdrop.
The verandah overlooking the garden is a charming space for serving celebratory drinks and canapes, with alcoves that can accommodate a live band or a bar. It is also a nice space for a desserts and cake table.
Garden receptions are popular in summer and have an enchanting ambiance when decorated with lights and lanterns. A seated meal can be served in a marquee using whichever caterers you choose. We can recommend a wide range of catering options - from a high-end seated service to a buffet (spit roasts are popular), to some of Auckland's top food trucks - all of which are experienced in working at our venue. Up to 100 can be accommodated for an outdoor wedding in summer.
Inside, the grand Victorian ballroom with its opulent wallpaper and drapes, can also be used for a ceremony and for hosting a reception, accommodating up to 70 for a seated meal. Or you may want to use this space later in the evening to serve tea and cake. Alberton has an extensive collection of vintage silverware and fine china tea sets available for hire.
We are a flexible venue that allows hirers to use the spaces and to decorate as they like in order to personalise their celebrations.
