Location Description
Bastia Hill is one of two hills in Whanganui with towers. This is the water tower. The site was the site of a fortified pa Taumahaaute. Designed by City Engineer Crofton Staveley and Principal Assistant Engineer A Gumbley. Height including dome is 50metres. Was still providing water in 2013. Weight of tank when full 2000 tonnes.
