Claire has oversight of the Policy, Organisational Development and Corporate Services Teams, as well as our framework setting, reporting, and risk management functions. These teams cover the following responsibilities: national co-ordination activity for listing and archaeological resource regulation, statutory advocacy, marketing, communications, project advice, membership, publications, people capability, finance, IT systems, and information management.

Prior to this, she was the general manager of our Central Region, for three years. Claire spent nine years in the London Historic Places Team for English Heritage (now Historic England) after three years working for the National Trust in legal and policy roles. She represented both organisations on the London Historic Environment Forum and was English Heritage’s lead for the Thames Tideway Tunnel Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project. Claire was the first in-house legal advisor for the (then) New Zealand Historic Places Trust Pouhere Taonga, commencing her heritage career with four years of building the foundations for our current team.
