Why support us

Heritage New Zealand is the largest and most active heritage organisation in New Zealand. We manage and care for some of the country’s most cherished historic places, work in many different ways to protect and retain heritage across the nation and produce all sorts of information and materials to inform, educate and create change.

Donations and tax

Heritage New Zealand is registered as a ‘donee organisation’ with the IRD, which means that any donations you make over $5 are tax-deductible and you may be able to claim part of it back as a tax credit.

Attach receipts for your donations and send to IRD your Tax credit claim form (IR526) (and income tax return at the same time if you are required to file an IR3 income tax return). You'll get a refund, (unless you have arrears or have asked for it to be transferred to another account or if you made your donation through payroll giving).

For more information about tax claims, visit the IRD website.
