Visiting privileges at overseas heritage places
Members of Heritage New Zealand are entitled to free or reduced admission* to hundreds of historic properties around the world as a result of reciprocal visiting agreements in place between Heritage New Zealand and other overseas heritage organisations. This applies only to normal property admission and does not include parking or the use of other amenities where charges may apply.
Members of Heritage New Zealand are entitled to free or reduced admission* to hundreds of historic properties around the world as a result of reciprocal visiting agreements in place between Heritage New Zealand, INTO (the global National Trusts movement) and other overseas heritage organisations like English Heritage. This applies only to normal property admission and does not include parking or the use of other amenities where charges may apply.
Visit the main INTO Places website which contains information about most of the destinations that members can visit as part of the scheme.
Please note that the organisations listed here do not necessarily operate all of the heritage properties in the country where they are located. Some heritage properties are operated by organisations with which we do not have visiting agreements and therefore will charge you admission.
Members can visit most properties operated by the following overseas heritage organisations free of charge* upon presentation of their NZHPT/Heritage New Zealand membership card. In some cases, a reduced-price admission applies, and some properties may be excluded from the visiting agreement. Check the relevant organisation's website for further information regarding admission, opening hours and other details of the places you wish to visit.
* Surcharges apply for parking, use of other amenities, and at times of special exhibitions and events. Your Heritage New Zealand membership card is not a parking permit and does not entitle you to free or reduced cost parking at historic places cared for by these heritage organisations.
Note: free admission for Heritage New Zealand members does not apply at all properties managed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation: Kykuit (50% discount), Lower East Side Tenement Museum (20% discount). Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio (no discount) and Robie House (no discount).
Heritage New Zealand members receive the same preferential rates offered to National Trust for Historic Preservation members at participating Historic Hotels of America via this website.
Note: conditions apply - rates vary, are subject to availability, and advance reservations are required; blackout dates may apply; the member rate must be requested; the member rate is not applicable to groups nor to be used with any other offer; a valid membership card must be presented upon check-in or the hotel may charge full rate.
