Membership during lockdown

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga members are our financial and moral lifeblood and your support of our work through membership and donations is crucial.  Now, more than ever, we need your support and understanding.

As you might expect at Alert Levels 3 and 4, the membership team is working from home so processing time for standard membership (new and renewing), magazine-only subscriptions and donations at this time may be a little slower than usual.  We regret that we cannot post cards and other materials to you until we are back in the office.  Mail delivery is also affected by the country's response to Covid-19 with restricting mail to essential services during lockdown.

Soft copies of many of our publications are available in the Resources section of our website. 

If you have not provided us with your email address or signed up to our monthly newsletter Heritage this Month, please just email our Membership Advisor on to securely provide your name and email address.  Read our Privacy Policy.

Email renewal notice

Your membership renewal will be straightforward if you’ve provided us with a current, valid email address.  We’ll send a renewal notice to you around 35 days before your renewal is due and then another about two days before.  Simply follow the instructions in the email to renew.   If you are expecting a notice but haven’t seen it in your inbox, check your 'Junk Mail' folder in case it has ended up there.

Online renewal

If you wish to renew your membership online, you’ll find there's an easier process available to you.  Just choose the option at the top of the application form, fill in some key information (your membership number and your name) so we can identify you safely, and the system will locate you.  Please take the opportunity to check and correct any of the contact information we hold.

Phone renewal

Prefer speaking with a human to completing the online form?   If you’d like to renew over the phone, please contact us on 0800 802 010 and we’ll do our best to make it easy to renew.  Please have your membership number and credit card details ready when you contact us.

Direct debit - the easy option for renewal

If you would like a hassle-free membership renewal, or if you are no longer able to pay by cheque, the best way to pay and renew your membership is by Direct Debit. This simple one-time form enables your membership to automatically renew each year without you having to do a thing – we’ll simply send you a notification in the 11th month of your membership term advising you when the membership will renew and how much it will cost.
