The move comes after four years of being based at Te Pou o Manako Kerikeri/NorthTec campus, in Hone Heke Road.

“We were previously based in the administration block of NorthTec during the time when the NorthTec campus was closed due to a shortfall of funding,” says Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Northland Manager, Bill Edwards.

“With the campus returning to full strength the admin block is needed again for its original purpose. It’s been great to see the campus coming to life again, and the time was right for us to find new accommodation.”

The new office in Hobson Avenue – formerly home to McLeod’s Lawyers, who have now moved into the office immediately next door– ticks all the boxes according to Bill.

“Being in town means we’re more accessible to people, and we have a large amount of space which will be useful for storing collections items that are currently kept in separate storage in Kerikeri. The collections will be more accessible to staff for conservation work and research.”

Office hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
