Smile, Imagine, Reminisce!

17/03/2021 - 30/05/2021

Currently filling the Collector’s Cabinet in the ballroom at  Alberton is a small display of vintage 20th-century toys belonging to Auckland enthusiast Paul Maringka.

Collecting toys has been a life-long passion for Paul. With acquisitions from flea markets and antique shops around the world, as well as donations, his impressive hoard fills a shipping container! In pristine condition with original boxes, these are wind-up, battery-operated, 'rotate-o-matic', with 'magic' piston action, bright colours, lights, sounds, boggling eyes and authentic design details. All are geared to delight, entertain and inspire the imagination. Their main objective: fun!
