Temporary closure: Our apologies - Hayes Engineering Works and Homestead will be closed on Tuesday 1 December due to a scheduled power outage.

Visitor host guided tour (by arrangement, minimum 4 persons): $15
Guided tours of the works in operation* on open days: $20 per person, $10 for Heritage New Zealand members and children.
Group tours (12 or more) including the works in operation: $15 per person. Pre-booking essential.
Heritage New Zealand members/affiliated members are free on production of a valid membership card.
*Please understand that surcharges may apply at times of special events and exhibitions, for parking, and the use of other amenities.
There is plenty of free car parking available on site. Bicycle stands are also available.
Camper vans may be parked in the adjacent paddock for $24 per night, includes site admission. Toilets are available. You may fill your camper van with water before 9am and after 5pm at the property.
Coach parking is available, please pre-book.
Group tours may be arranged by contacting the staff at Hayes Engineering, telephone (03) 444 5801 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a convenient time. We would be delighted to work with you to develop a programme suited to the interests and ages of your group.
Re-wire with a Hayes Roast (our own special coffee blend from Vivace Espresso) in our cafe when you arrive. Other light refreshments are available including ice creams, cold drinks, morning and afternoon teas, light lunches etc. You can even take away a convenient 250gm 'pedal pack' so you can plunge a memory later.
Hayes Engineering has a small shop where you can purchase themed gifts as a special reminder of this unique place.
There is limited access only for wheelchairs.
Public facilities are available on site for visitors.
