Location Description
Bastia Hill is one of two hills in Whanganui with towers. This is the water tower. The site was the site of a fortified pa Taumahaaute. Designed by City Engineer Crofton Staveley and Principal Assistant Engineer E. Gumbley. Height including dome is 50 metres. Was still providing water in 2013. Weight of tank when full 2000 tonnes.
